Tremble

One song that has been speaking to me lately is called Tremble, and it’s by Mosaic MSC. Look at the very first stanza.

“Peace. Bring it all to peace, the storm surrounding me. Let it break at your name.”

God is our refuge and if we call on the name of Jesus He can bring us peace in this time of uncertainty. If you have a Bible nearby, paper or electronic, turn with me to Psalms 118:5-6. Go ahead and read these verses and think about them for a second.

I really like the part that says, “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.” In today’s world it is easy to feel like God is far away and that there are so many things to be afraid about, but the good news is, God is on our side! With God, anything is possible and peace beyond understanding is ours, if we trust in Him. I really like the chorus of this song. It says,

“Jesus, Jesus you make the darkness tremble. Jesus, Jesus you silence fear.”

This is really beautiful because it says that Jesus makes the darkness tremble. Whatever darkness is in your life right now, give it all to God. He makes the darkness tremble beneath his feet. Luke 1:78-79 talks a little bit about this. It says,

“Because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high. To give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

God brings light to our darknesses. The bridge of this song goes on to say,

“Your name is a light that the shadows can’t deny. Your name cannot be overcome.”

Now, let’s come before God in a word of prayer. Ask Him to give you His peace that surpasses all understanding. Ask Him to reveal any darkness in your life. Give that darkness to Him. Let Him take control. Ask him to reveal to you any darknesses around you that you can spread light into. Pray that He may teach you something in this time of waiting. That you may learn to trust in Him and lean on His never ending love. Finally, let’s pray for our world that we live in today, for all the people that are still working in grocery stores and other stores, for doctors and nurses that are trying to slow COVID-19 down, and finally for yourself and your family. Pray that God gives you the strength that you need to get through being quarantined in your home.
