Our Student Ministry is a dynamic, Christ-focused, Bible-teaching ministry to students from 6th to 12th grade.  We offer truthful, applicable Bible instruction; fun fellowship opportunities; exciting praise; and several large events throughout the year for students to be involved in.  Below, you’ll find info on our weekly opportunities, as well as information on upcoming large events.  Let us know if you have any questions!  We look forward to hearing from you.

Sunday Morning Bible Study

thegospelprojectchronological_logoOur youth Sunday morning Bible study time is from 9:00 am to 10:15.  Our mid-school (grades 6-8) Bible Study class is led by Jared & Stefanie Portillos.

The high school class is taught by our Interim Youth Pastor, Ryne Swann, and his wife, Samantha.

Both our high school and mid-school classes are currently using The Gospel Project Chronological from Lifeway.  The Gospel Project is a three-year curriculum which focuses on seeing the message of the Gospel throughout Scripture.

You can find out more about The Gospel Project Chronological at gospelproject.com.

Prime Time/Overtime – Mid-Week Fellowship

PRIME TIME is our Wednesday night fellowship and study time for all students.  We usually play games and win prizes, sing songs of praise with our youth praise band, and have a time of topical student-oriented Bible study.  Sometimes the lessons are for the entire group, and sometimes we split high school and mid-school to tackle age-specific questions.  Recent study series have included VIVID: A 6-lesson study on the Book of James, Essentials: Twelve Core Concepts of the Christian Faith and Jack & Jill: A Study on Relationships.  We usually have small group discussion following large group teaching, where students can dig deeper into the lesson with a few of their peers and an adult mentor.  Prime Time starts at 6:30 pm, and is usually over by 8:00 pm.

OVERTIME is our free-form fellowship time every Wednesday following Prime Time. This is so that students can spend time with their friends who they don’t go to school with, just to catch up and have some fun together.  Overtime ends at 8:30 pm.

 Sunday Evening Bible Study

For the 2017-2018 school year, our Student Ministry will study The LIFE curriculum from YM360 on Sunday nights from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.

The call to faith in Christ is a call to action. It’s a call to a transformed life, a life that has a specific look to it. This life is called discipleship. And it’s the expected path of all who come to faith in Jesus.

The call to saving faith is a simultaneous call to follow Jesus in a lifetime of devotion. There really isn’t any other option. The idea that we could know Jesus but live unchanged lives isn’t biblical. The picture of biblical faith is the picture of life daily lived in relationship with God. It’s a life of discipleship. Of “followership.” And The LIFE will help students know exactly what the call to follow looks like.

Using a unit-based approach,The LIFE makes the case for discipleship as the expected norm of all Christians, and then helps students know what this practically looks like in their lives.
