"AWANA" stands for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed", taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. 

AWANA is a ministry for children age 3 through 12th grade that runs from Mid August through May. All participants in AWANA are given the opportunity to enjoy age-appropriate activities and games, are challenged to study and memorize Scripture, and learn about God's plan for their lives in an active manner. The purpose is to reach children for Christ and train them to be disciples.
