Our goal for our children's ministry is: to reach children with the good news of Jesus Christ; to provide a foundation of Biblical principles for children to build on; to provide fun, age-appropriate activities; to provide a program that is balanced and includes Bible study, worship and discipleship.
Along with special Sunday morning Bible Study and Worship Services just for children, we offer several other opportunities for your children to be involved in fellowship and learning activities.
AWANA
AWANA is a club for kids age 3 through 6th grade that runs
from September through May. The children play games, memorize
scripture, and learn about God's plan for their lives in an active manner.
The purpose is to reach children for Christ and make them disciples.
CHILDREN'S CHOIR
Choirs are available for age 3 through 5th grade, from
September through May. In addition to learning music fundamentals through
games, singing and fun activities, children learn spiritual truths and to praise
and worship God through music.
MISSIONS EDUCATION
We have mission education classes for all age groups.
Mission Friends is for preschoolers, and lays foundations for understanding what
missionaries do. GA's (for girls) and RA's (for boys) are for our
elementary age children. Both programs teach about missionaries and the
Southern Baptist missions organizations, as well as involving them in missions
projects.
FIFTH GRADE
Fifth grade is a very special year for kids as they
prepare to promote to mid-school and the youth group. In order to help
prepare them for this important transition, we use a specialized Bible study
program. Fifth graders also participate in special fellowships designed to
build relationships with other students and adult youth leaders.
UPWARD BASKETBALL
Our basketball league is for children in 1st through 6th
grades. We have separate leagues for boys and girls. In addition to
introducing the kids to basketball fundamentals and giving each child equal
opportunity to play and improve their skills, children are also given spiritual
fundamentals through devotions at practices and games.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Throughout the year we offer special events specifically
designed for children. Some are week-long, like our Vacation Bible School,
while others are just for a day. But all are designed to reach children
with the good news of Jesus Christ.
